Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Under Isolation After Staff Tested Positive
ROQUE UNDER ISOLATION – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has undergone a self-quarantine after one of his staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
However, Roque emphasized that he himself, tested negative for the coronavirus. But, he still opted to undergo isolation as per protocol. According to an article from Inquirer, Roque said:
Bagamat negative po tayo kahapon noong tayo ay nag-PCR [polymerase chain reaction] para sa pagpupulong kay Presidente mamaya, e kinakailangan sumunod pa rin po sa mga protocols. So work from home at isolation muna tayo.
Previously, Roque also had to place himself under isolation on September of last year. This was after one of his security personnel got infected with the new coronavirus. Likewise, his COVID-19 test results was also negative during that time.
Meanwhile, Roque also stated that the government should start distribution of the new COVID-19 vaccines come February 15. Furthermore, health workers would be the first to get inoculated with the vaccines.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 117,000 vaccine doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine would arrive in the Philippines in the second or third week of February 2021 under the COVAX Facility.
