Actress Zoe Caldwell died at the age of 86.
Zoe Caldwell, an actress who won four Tony Awards, died at her home in Westchester County in Pound Ridge, New York. She was 86 years old.
This, after her son, Charlie Whitehead, through a spokesperson, confirmed her passing, saying that her cause of death was Parkinson’s disease.
Zoe Caldwell was born on September 14, 1933, in Melbourne, Australia. She began her career as an actress in that country.
She won a Tony award for best-featured actress in a play in Slapstick Tragedy in 1966; Medea in 1982; and Master Class in 1996.
In an interview with The New York Times, she said that anything could happen in the theater, adding that she has “gotten sick two times before, so now it’s over.”
