“This recognition is for all of us,” the actor-restaurateur tells his team
MARVIN AGUSTIN – The actor and restaurateur is celebrating another win in the kitchen after his restaurant Cochi kept its Bib Gourmand distinction in the Michelin Guide Philippines 2027, unveiled at a ceremony on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
Cochi is one of 31 restaurants in the country that received the Bib Gourmand this year, a recognition Michelin gives to establishments that serve “exceptional food at great value.” It is among the 21 restaurants that kept the honor from the guide’s inaugural Philippine edition last year, making this its second straight year on the list.

Marvin could not contain his joy. On Instagram, he shared a video of himself at the ceremony looking ecstatic, writing that “my heart is full of gratitude.”
“So proud of our hardworking team who gives their best every single day. This recognition is for all of us,” he said.
In a separate post, the actor again turned the spotlight on his staff, saying the “recognition belongs to our entire team.”
“Behind it are countless hours of hard work, discipline, dedication, and genuine love for what we do. I couldn’t be prouder of our team. You deserve this moment. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat,” Marvin added.
Cochi is a Filipino-Spanish restaurant in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, best known for its cochinillo, or roasted suckling pig. It opened in 2023, around three years after Marvin started teaching himself how to roast pig in his own garage.
The win also gave his showbiz family a reason to cheer. His longtime onscreen partner Jolina Magdangal joined the celebration along with the cast and production team of their TV5 series “Mommy Guard,” where Marvin plays Principal Pio opposite Jolina’s Tina.
The Michelin Guide Philippines 2027 recognized a total of 127 establishments this year. Ten restaurants earned Michelin Stars, while 86 were named to the Michelin Selection. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos attended the event.
Among the 10 new Bib Gourmand entries this year are Apag Marangle, Balay Dako, Tatang’s Lechon and C.H.E. Bacolod Chicken House Express, joining returning favorites such as Manam at the Triangle, Lampara, Sarsa and The Underbelly.
For Marvin, who rose to fame as one of the country’s top matinee idols before building a name in the food business, the back-to-back recognition adds to a growing list of achievements in his second career. “Mommy Guard” airs Mondays to Fridays at 2:30 p.m. on TV5.
