Is Dingdong Dantes Planning to Run in the 2028 Elections?

Dingdong Dantes Speaks Out on Politics Rumors

DINGDONG DANTES – The Kapuso Primetime King has once again made it clear that he has no plans to run in the 2028 elections, despite continued calls from supporters urging him to enter politics.

His name recently appeared in a Senate pre-election survey for 2028, which renewed public speculation about a possible political career. However, during an interview on the television program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho with veteran journalist Jessica Soho, Dingdong firmly denied any intention of joining politics.

The actor explained that his main focus remains the entertainment industry, particularly his work as an actor. When asked directly if he had plans to run for public office, he clearly stated that he had none. Instead of entering politics, Dingdong said he prefers to continue building his career in show business while supporting the advocacy projects he has already started.

Aside from acting and hosting, Dingdong currently serves as chairman of AKTOR PH, also known as the League of Filipino Actors. The organization was founded together with fellow celebrities, including Iza Calzado and Agot Isidro, to protect and support the welfare, rights, and career development of Filipino actors and other entertainment workers, including those working behind the camera in film and television.

Dingdong shared that the organization was formed during the pandemic, a time when many people in the entertainment industry faced fear, uncertainty, and questions about their future. He said the experience brought artists together and created a strong sense of community and support among people who genuinely care for one another. The actor also expressed pride in being part of a group that helps fellow workers in the industry.

This year, Dingdong is also celebrating his 30th anniversary in show business while continuing his work in television, including his role in the latest GMA Prime series The Master Cutter.
