KIRAY CELIS – The comedienne addressed persistent online criticism targeting her and her husband, Stephan Estopia, especially a comment questioning her husband’s contributions to their household.
During a media event for her business ventures—Kiray’s Brands, which includes Hello Bloom, Hot Babe, Skin Vibe, and Day-Li—Kiray laughed off the criticism, explaining that while some might assume her husband’s contribution is financial, he actively helps manage the household and supports her business efforts. She emphasized that her husband’s involvement is significant and that her own earnings were often shared with her family, making his support essential.
“Sabi ko, parang ako yung walang ambag. Kasi yung asawa ko ang napakabait. Parang… akala kasi nila, parang siguro yung iniisip nilang walang ambag, sa pera siguro. Pero siyempre malaking bagay na hindi rin naman kaya ng pera ko po noon. Kasi lahat ng pera ko, na kina Mama at Papa noon,” she said.
Kiray also shared insights about her business compared to her acting career. She noted that online selling offers stability and flexibility, unlike TV tapings, which require long hours and strict schedules. She explained that although her income from live selling sometimes surpasses her acting fees, the key is maintaining balance and managing her commitments.
The rising fuel prices have affected her household, as filling up their new vehicle now costs nearly double. Despite these challenges, Kiray’s business continues to perform well, with ongoing sales of her barley-based drinks and skincare products. She remains committed to promoting her brands personally and values the stability and long-term potential of business over the unpredictability of acting projects.
Kiray also reflected on her inspirations as a CEO, citing Elon Musk and other successful leaders she admires. She recalled her late mentor, Fanny Serrano, who helped shape her career and would likely be proud of her current success as a business owner.
