Former PBA Player Mark Cardona Arrested in Taguig
MARK CARDONA – The former PBA player was arrested in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, following allegations of harassment involving a 21-year-old woman.
According to police reports, the incident happened on March 28, 2026, when Cardona allegedly approached the woman, suddenly held her hand, and kissed her without her consent. The situation quickly escalated when he reportedly became aggressive, pushing the woman’s boyfriend and challenging him to a fight. Even after the couple sought help from a nearby bouncer, his behavior continued, and he allegedly attempted to harm the boyfriend by poking his eyes.
“However, the suspect became aggressive, pushed her boyfriend, and challenged him to a fight. They then approached a bouncer to report the incident, but the suspect continued to act aggressively and even poked the boyfriend’s eyes,” the report noted.
Authorities also revealed that other women came forward, claiming they experienced similar actions from Cardona, which strengthened the complaints filed against him. With the assistance of bar security, the victim and her companion were escorted to a police station to formally report the incident. Cardona was then taken into custody by responding officers.
Police officials confirmed that he underwent inquest proceedings and is now facing charges, including acts of lasciviousness and physical injury. If proven guilty, these charges could carry serious legal consequences.
Cardona was once a well-known figure in the Philippine Basketball Association, where he played for teams such as the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters and the Meralco Bolts. He was also part of the national team pool and gained recognition during his career before stepping away from professional basketball in 2016.
This is not the first time Cardona has been linked to legal issues, as he has previously faced complaints involving physical injury and other allegations. Authorities are still attempting to obtain his official statement regarding the recent incident.
