Harry Roque Posts Accusation vs. Marcos Jr. over Duterte’s ICC Detention
BONGBONG MARCOS – Harry Roque claimed that the President allegedly started working on former President Rodrigo Duterte’s International Criminal Court (ICC) detention amid his ties with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
The arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte caused political turmoil in the Philippine government. Currently, countless Duterte supporters in the country and in abroad are calling for the interim release of the former Chief Executive.
However, last November 28, the International Criminal Court rejected the interim release plea of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The former President waived his right to attend the hearing. He was represented by his lawyer, Nicholas Kaufman.
The Duterte family claimed that they accepted the ICC ruling on the former President’s interim release appeal “with open hearts”. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands for her father.
Not only the supporters of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte but as well as his allies are calling for his house arrest. One of them is his former spokesman, Harry Roque, who is currently in The Hague, Netherlands.
Harry Roque previously hid from the authorities for several months and only appeared in public last March when the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was transferred under the ICC. Duterte’s former Spokesman is being investigated over his alleged involvement in the operations of the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators in the country.
Roque applied for an asylum in The Netherlands as advised by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.. Amid a pending arrest warrant against him issued by the Philippine court, he cannot be immediately deported to the Philippines.
Harry Roque is one of those who are calling for the house arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. He also claimed that he cannot forgive Pres. Bongbong Marcos for allegedly causing the distance between him and his family. He called for the resignation of Marcos Jr. several times.
Recently, Roque launched a new accusation against Marcos Jr. Through a post on social media, Duterte’s former Spokesman claimed that the President allegedly started working on the ICC detention of his predecessor as early as March 2023 when he still has good ties with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Previously, amid his ICC detention, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte extended the message of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the Filipino people.
