Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Says Atty. Claire Castro “Not her Best Friend”
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President pointed out that Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro is “not her best friend”.
There are several issues in the government now. Even President Bongbong Marcos was tagged by Zaldy Co in the supposed multi-billion corruption in the country. According to the resigned House Budget Appropriations Committee Chairman, Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly inserted P100 billion in the 2025 national budget and received a P56-billion kickback. Malacañang was quick to defend Marcos Jr.

Malacañang press officer undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro challenged Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines and face the corruption accusations against him. According to the Malacañang official, Co allegedly wants the investigation to stop so he tagged the President in the issue.

The Malacañang official also reacted to the claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that she is ready to assume the presidency if Marcos Jr. resigns. Atty. Claire Castro claimed that the remarks of the Vice President is allegedly “unacceptable”. According to her, it supposedly weakens the confidence of the Filipinos towards the Marcos Jr. administration.
“Unang-una po, ang Bise Presidente, hindi acceptable, it is not acceptable for a vice president to anticipate the resignation of the president – Presidente na pinagsisigawan nilang bumaba sa puwesto,” Castro said.
Previously, there were also several instances when Atty. Claire Castro not only defended Pres. Bongbong Marcos from the accusations and issues but as well as hit back at Vice Pres. Sara Duterte amid the rumored feud between the President and the Vice President.
The Malacañang Press Undersecretary previously claimed that all the stories of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte are allegedly meant to ruin the President’s reputation. It was her response when Duterte claimed that Marcos Jr. allegedly smelled like alcohol when she tendered her resignation as the secretary of the Department of Education.

Recently, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro was mentioned during an interview with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte wherein she was referred as the supposed best friend of the Vice President. Based on a post on social media, the Vice President immediately clarified that the Malacañang press official is not her best friend.
“Uy, excuse me hindi ko best friend si Claire Castro. Wala akong best friend na ganyan mag-isip,” the Vice President said.
Previously, Malacañang reacted to the criticism of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against the ICI or the Independent Commission for Infrastructure.
