SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President was asked about her readiness to assume the presidency if Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. resigns.

Currently, both corruption and illegal drug use accusations are surrounding the President. Resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez of allegedly inserting P100-billion in the 2025 national fund. According to him, the President and the then-Speaker of the House of Representatives also supposedly got all P56 billion kickback all for themselves.

According to Zaldy Co, he was allegedly told by Romualdez not to return to the Philippines as supposedly instructed by the President amid the flood control issue in the country. He claimed that he was told that he will be taken cared of but he did not expect that he will allegedly be used as the “poster boy” in the administration’s campaign against corruption.

Malacañang defended Marcos Jr. saying that Zaldy Co allegedly tagged the President as he wants the probe to stop. Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro called on the former House member to return to the Philippines and testify under oath.

Following the corruption accusations, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly using illegal drugs. According to her, their family is allegedly aware of the supposed problem with him since they were young.

Malacañang immediately reacted to it saying that Sen. Imee Marcos allegedly wants Marcos Jr. out for so-called “Team ITIM” — referring to the campaign ad of the Senator with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Palace stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is not considering resignation as an option even after the claims of his sister.

Recently, amid the calls for the President to step down from his position, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about her readiness to assume the presidency if Pres. Bongbong Marcos will resign. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she stressed that there is no question to it.

“There is no question about my readiness. I presented myself to you when I was a candidate for vice president with the understanding that I am the first in line in succession,” she expressed.

Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stressed that she presented herself to the public when she ran for the vice presidency and she knew that she is the first in line in the succession. According to her, there is no question as to what she will do.

“Pinresenta ko sa inyo, tumakbo ako bilang vice president. Alam ko na first in line ako sa succession. Wala nang tanong dun kung ano ang gagawin ko. Yun ang mandate sa akin ng Constitution, at alam ko yun noong ako ay tumakbo at binoto niyo ako as Vice President knowing that I am the first in line,” Duterte added.

Previously, the Vice President dared the President to undergo a hair follicle drug test to disprove the accusations of his sister. The Palace slammed Vice Pres. Sara Duterte on calling for the drug test of Marcos Jr.
