Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Flood Control Issue Investigation
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President is confident that the flood control issue won’t lead to her but doubts the confidence of Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines wherein several senators and congressmen are allegedly involved in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption, Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered the creation of an independent body that will probe the issue — now known as the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI.
The ICI is composed of a three-member body that is currently holding closed-door hearings that invited several individuals linked to the flood control issue. Recently, the President reacted to the claims and speculations that the flood control probe will allegedly lead to the doorsteps of Malacañang.
According to to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the opposition allegedly wants him involved in the flood control corruption so he could be ousted from the presidency. He claimed that he is not hiding anything and the allegations are allegedly politically-motivated.
The President expressed his confidence that his administration will be able to prove that the accusations against them are allegedly due to “politics”. However, the said statement of the Chief Executive sparked doubt on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Based on a post of News5 on social media, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently joined a news forum wherein she spoke about her confidence that the flood control issue investigation will not lead to her. The Vice President stressed that the offices she’s tied with have no flood control projects.
“Sigurado akong hindi aabot sa’kin ang flood control scandal kasi unang-una, wala namang flood control projects sa OVP or DepEd,” she expressed.
However, with regards to the confidence of Pres. Bongbong Marcos that the flood control probe will not lead to him, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that it is allegedly doubtful why the Chief Executive seems to be confident. She raised an allegation that he is supposedly aware already about the outcome of the investigation.
“Magtataka ka bakit confident ‘yung Pangulo na hindi aabot sa Office of the President ‘yung iskandalo at ‘yung korupsyon; ibig sabihin, alam na niya’ yung kalalabasan ng inquiry at imbestigasyon,” the Vice President said.
Based on the post, Vice Pres. Duterte also claimed that the Marcos administration is allegedly trying to get the flood control investigation to her through supposedly linking Sen. Bong Go to the issue. According to her, she’s thinking that Go might allegedly be used to link her and former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the supposed multi-billion flood control scam.
Amid the issue, the trust rating of both the president and the vice president dropped. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently spoke on the decline of her trust rating as per the latest survey.
