Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President junked her rumored ties with Cavite Congressman Kiko Barzaga who recently called for Marcos Jr.’s resignation.
Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga earned both praises and criticisms amid his recent moves and statements against President Bongbong Marcos and his administration. He previously disclosed an alleged impeachment complaint that he will file against the Chief Executive.
Barzaga is accusing Marcos Jr. of alleged betrayal of public trust amid the flood control mess in the Philippines. However, Malacañang only said that Marcos Jr. is “too busy” to pay attention on the impeachment complaint of Barzaga against him. Last October 12, the young Congressman also led an anti-Marcos protest outside Forbes Park Village in Makati City.
Cong. Kiko Barzaga did not reveal when will be the next anti-Marcos rally as he stressed that the corrupt officials are allegedly “stealing anytime” so they can protest anytime. His being vocal against the President sparked rumors and speculations about his supposed ties with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke about Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vice President claimed that she only met the young House lawmaker during the UniTeam rally in Cavite in 2022. According to her, only Kiko was for her tandem with Pres. Bongbong Marcos as his parents are solely supporting her.
“Ang magulang nya ay hindi Uniteam, for Sara only sila. Si Kiko was for Uniteam,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also denied controlling Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga. Based on the report, the Vice President stressed that the Congressman is his own person who has his own principles.
“Di ko pakawala si Kiko. Isa syang tao na mahirap kontrolin kahit sinuman. I do not control Kiko Barzaga. He is his own person, he has his own principles and own free will,” she said.
Amid the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the country, Cong. Kiko Barzaga previously warned that Zaldy Co might allegedly be the “fall guy”. Recently, the former spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Harry Roque, expressed his praises on Cong. Kiko Barzaga for standing against the Marcos administration.
