Fyang Smith Explains Viral Video Showing Her Hitting a Marshal
FYANG SMITH — The Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner has finally spoken about the viral video showing her hitting a marshal, which drew strong reactions and criticism online. In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Fyang explained that the man in the video was not just a staff member, but someone very close to her — her friend and companion, Kuya Bravo.
Fyang said that many people misunderstood what happened because they only saw a short clip without knowing the real story. She shared that she and Kuya Bravo have a close bond that goes beyond work. “Ang tingin ko sa kanya friends, tropa, family ko na siya eh kasi every time na may ganap ako andun lagi siya sa tabi ko, Hindi marshal yung turing ko dun kasi hindi naman nila nakikita kung paano kami mag-bond ng off-cam,” she said.
She also revealed that her closeness with Kuya Bravo started even before she joined Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). Before entering the show, she stayed in what they called a “hotel arrest,” where Kuya Bravo was assigned to look after her for a week. During that time, they became very close friends.
Fyang recalled a funny moment when Kuya Bravo told her before she entered PBB that she would become the “Big Winner.” After the show ended, he reminded her of his prediction, jokingly saying, “O diba? Sabi ko sayo ikaw big winner.”
Fyang admitted that the viral clip looked bad at first glance but was misunderstood. What people perceived as rude or disrespectful was actually a playful and lighthearted moment between two people who were comfortable with each other.
Through her explanation, Fyang hopes people understand that viral videos don’t always show the full story. She said her action was never meant to offend anyone and was simply part of her friendly and close relationship with someone she already considers family.
