Sen. Imee Marcos Reacts To Ombudsman Appointment of Justice Sec. Boying Remulla
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator admitted that what she is thinking about now amid the Ombudsman appointment of Justice Secretary Boying Remulla is the safety of the life of Vice President Sara Duterte.
A couple of days ago, it was confirmed that the Judiciary and Bar Council or JBC had submitted the shortlist for Ombudsman applicants to Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Seven (7) applicants made it to the shortlist and the President was expected to choose the next Ombudsman from the said list.

There were a total of 17 applicants for Ombudsman and only seven (7) of them including Department of Justice Sec. Boying Remulla made it to the shortlist. Not long after the JBC confirmed the submission of the shortlist, Malacañang announced the decision of Marcos Jr.

The Palace announced that Marcos Jr. appointed Justice Sec. Boying Remulla as the new Ombudsman. The Chief Executive’s decision earned different reactions from the government officials and the Filipino people. Presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos was one of those who reacted to Remulla’s Ombudsman appointment.

In her reaction to the appointment of DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla as Ombudsman, Sen. Imee Marcos gave a message for Pres. Bongbong Marcos asking him if he is sure about his decision. Based on a report on GMA News, the Senator claimed that Remulla’s appointment as Ombudsman is allegedly the third plan of the Marcos administration.
“Bonget, si Boying talaga? Sure ka? Ok ka pa ba? Nakaraang taon ko pa sinasabi, palpak ang plan A na People’s Initiative, palpak ang plan B na impeachment, plan C itong sa Ombudsman,” Sen. Marcos said.

Based on the report, Sen. Imee Marcos admitted that her current concern is the safety of the life of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She also expressed her belief that what the Philippines allegedly needs is an Ombudsman for the people.
“Sa ngayon, ang iniisip ko na lamang ay kaligtasan ng buhay ni VP Sara. Palagay ko ang kailangan natin ay People’s Ombudsman, ‘yung kapanipaniwala, katiwa-tiwala at hindi kasapakat ng kung sino,” she said.
Previously, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that she will stand against Remulla’s appointment as Ombudsman for Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and her family.
