Angel Locsin Voices Support for Filipinos vs Corruption
ANGEL LOCSIN – The actress has ended her social media break to speak out against alleged corruption involving government-funded flood control projects. On Sunday, she posted a message of support for Filipinos demanding accountability, showing her solidarity with those affected by the issue.
On her Instagram Stories, Angel shared words of encouragement for those “fighting corruption,” writing, “May God give you more strength to keep going.” She expressed her anger and sadness while watching the Senate hearings, recalling heartbreaking stories of families whose homes were destroyed, parents who lost their jobs, and lives taken by floods and typhoons.
“Naiiyak ako sa galit kasi pwede pa lang hindi sila naghirap. Pwede pa lang walang nasaktan. Pwede pa lang walang namatay,” Angel wrote, voicing the frustration of many Filipinos who believe that proper use of public funds could have prevented such tragedies.

On X (formerly Twitter), she also posted a striking message: “Ang sa amin, galing sa hirap—ang sa inyo, galing sa mahihirap,” along with the hashtag #StopTheCorruption, criticizing those who profit at the expense of the poor. This marked her first post on the platform since January, making her statement even more significant.

Her message came as thousands of Filipinos gathered across the country to protest the alleged misuse of funds. Major demonstrations took place at the People Power Monument along EDSA and Rizal Park in Manila, calling for transparency and justice.
Angel now joins a growing number of celebrities who have either participated in the rallies or used their platforms to voice support. Her return to social media sends a strong message of solidarity, reminding people that their struggles should never be ignored and that corruption has real consequences on the lives of ordinary citizens.
