Arjo Atayde Conducts Relief Operation Amid Corruption Allegations

Relief Operation by Arjo Atayde Amid Corruption Allegations

ARJO ATAYDE – The actor and Quezon City First District Representative conducted a relief operation for residents affected by severe flooding in his district amid ongoing corruption allegations. He personally led the distribution of aid on September 20, 2025, visiting several flood-prone barangays, including Paltok, Talayan, Sto. Cristo, Sitio San Isidro, Bagong Pag-asa, and Project 6.

Through photos shared on his official Facebook page, Arjo was seen delivering relief goods to families who were unable to evacuate and had to endure rising floodwaters inside their homes. In his post, he expressed his commitment to ensuring that help reached every household in need. He also emphasized that genuine public service knows no boundaries and vowed to continue going above and beyond to assist his constituents, especially during times of crisis.

This relief effort came at a time when Arjo is facing intense public scrutiny. Just weeks earlier, on September 8, 2025, business owners Sarah and Curlee Discaya testified during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing, accusing Arjo and certain Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials of allegedly taking a percentage from flood control projects awarded to their companies. They further claimed that Arjo’s father, Art Atayde, received the payments on his behalf.

Arjo has strongly denied these serious allegations, calling them false and baseless. His wife, actress Maine Mendoza, also publicly defended him, but this unfortunately led to her being dragged into the controversy and receiving criticism online.

The Facebook post about the relief operation received mixed reactions. Many supporters praised Arjo for continuing to serve his district despite the controversy, leaving comments that expressed their trust and encouragement. However, critics were equally vocal, with some insisting that the Discayas’ allegations were true and questioning Arjo’s motives behind the relief efforts.
