Statement of Malacañang on “Amoy Alak” Claim of VP Sara Duterte vs. PBBM
Malacañang refuted the claim of Vice President Sara Duterte saying that she just allegedly wants to malign Pres. Bongbong Marcos so she can become the president.
The soured relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is no secret to the Filipino people anymore. It was in 2024 after Duterte resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education that hinted the start of a tainted ties between the former running mates in the 2022 Elections.

Recently, at an event in Kuwait, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte criticized the Philippine education saying that the country allegedly lags behind when it comes to modernization. Her remarks did not sit well with many people considering that she is a former secretary of the Department of Education.

Following her remarks, Malacañang claimed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s stint as a DepEd secretary is allegedly “a complete failure”. Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that Duterte should have addressed all her complaints over the PH education now when she was the DepEd chief as she had two years.
The Malacañang press official stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos trusted Vice Pres. Sara Duterte when he appointed her to be the DepEd secretary. However, the Vice President had a different claim.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly smelled like alcohol at 10:30 in the morning when she tendered her resignation from being the DepEd secretary. She stressed that she is not the failure but someone who smells like alcohol very early in the morning. According to her, she saw the President drinking champagne but he allegedly smelled like a different type of alcohol.
Recently, Malacañang reacted to the claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos that he allegedly smelled like alcohol at 10:30 in the morning. Based on a report on PhilStar, Palace press undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that there is no truth to the claim of the Vice President.

“Walang katotohanan ang mga kwento niyang ito laban kay Pangulong Marcos, Jr. Madali sa kanilang gumawa ng kwento at propaganda,” she said.
Based on the report, Malacañang also said that the remarks of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte were allegedly meant to malign Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Atty. Claire Castro also claimed that the Vice President supposedly wants the Chief Executive to step down from his post so she can become the president.
“Lahat ng kwento niya ay para siraan ang Pangulo dahil nais niyang pababain ito sa pwesto at siya ang maging pangulo,” the Malacañang press official said.
Previously, Castro stressed that teachers, students, and the teaching staff should not worry. The Malacañang official claimed that DepEd Sec. Sonny Angara is cleaning the alleged mess left by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte‘s stint when she was the education chief.
