Little Girl Discovered in Suitcase Under Bus
NEW ZEALAND – A 27-year-old woman was arrested after she was found traveling on a bus with a young child hidden inside a suitcase. The incident happened at a bus station in Kaiwaka, where the bus stopped and the driver noticed that one of the bags in the storage area was moving.
When the driver checked the suitcase, they found a two-year-old girl inside. According to Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, the woman was charged with hurting and not properly caring for the child. He said the little girl was very hot when found, but she did not seem to have any injuries. She was taken to the hospital to make sure she was okay.
The suitcase had been placed under the bus, in the space where passengers usually put their luggage. Detective Harrison said that because of the driver’s quick action, a much worse situation was avoided. He also mentioned that the woman may face more charges, but it was not clear what her connection was to the child.

The case has been reported to New Zealand’s Ministry for Children, which will now be involved in the investigation. The event shocked many people because it put a young child’s life in danger. It also showed how important it is for people, especially workers in public transport, to stay alert and act quickly when something doesn’t seem right.

Authorities are still trying to understand why the woman did this and how she ended up with the child. The situation is now being looked into more closely, and steps are being taken to make sure the child is safe and protected from further harm.
