Female Customer Disrespected at a Fast Food Restaurant

Female Customer Calls Out Disrespect from Fast Food Staff

DISRESPECTED – A female customer took to social media to share the disrespect she experienced at a popular fast food restaurant.

Dindi Aragon Duggan recently shared an upsetting experience at a McDonald’s branch in Toril, Davao. After a long day that ended with a salon visit at SM Lanang, she and her family stopped by to grab dinner. But instead of a warm greeting, she was met with a hurtful comment from one of the staff: “May Pinoy na namang naka-ahon sa kahirapan.”

This was followed by another insulting remark: “Lahi gud pag naay kwarta kay mugwapa.” (You can really tell when someone has money—they look better.)

Dindi believes the staff judged her based on her appearance—well-groomed and neatly dressed. What hurt even more was that they laughed while making eye contact, showing no guilt or shame.

Shocked and hurt, she remained silent and asked her family to leave, saying, “Let’s go somewhere nicer.” Once outside, she broke down in tears and told them what happened. Her family was angry, but she chose not to confront the staff. Instead, she walked away with grace.

In her post, Dindi shared that she came from a hardworking family. She’s a nurse with multiple licenses and met her husband while working abroad. She built her life through determination, not luck or money.

Her message is simple: Don’t judge people based on looks. You never know someone’s story. Respect is free, and everyone deserves it—especially in customer service. To women who have faced the same kind of disrespect, Dindi says: Don’t let it bring you down. You don’t need anyone’s approval. Stand tall and know your worth.

As for her husband’s reaction? He joked, “I actually marry you for your money. You have more money than I do.” They ended up dining at Jollibee instead, where the staff treated them with warmth and kindness. Dindi hopes her story encourages others to be kinder, less judgmental, and more professional—especially in the service industry.
