Vice Ganda Calls Out Parents for Having Too Many Children Without Proper Support

Vice Ganda Slams Irresponsible Parenting

VICE GANDA – The Unkabogable Comedian expressed his frustration with parents who continue to have children despite not being financially ready.

In a vlog with former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Shuvee Etrata, the TV host emphasized that parents must take responsibility if their children grow up struggling, as it is their duty to provide a decent life.

Shuvee shared her personal experience, saying she once questioned why her parents had nine children when they were already struggling with five. Although she has since forgiven them, she admitted the experience left lasting emotional scars.

“Yun ‘yung naging parang hatred ko ba. Kasi, bakit ba ginawa kaming siyam? Kung hindi naman nila kaya, lima pa lang kami noon, hirap na kami. Tapos nag-anak naman sila nang nag-anak. Never silang tumigil. ‘Yun po ‘yung bubog ko,” said the actress and TV host.

Vice responded by pointing out that society often expects children to feel ashamed of their parents—but sometimes, it should be the other way around. “Dapat talaga mahiya ‘yung mga magulang. Kasi ‘di ba laging sa lipunan mas nire-require ‘yung mga anak na mahiya sa kanilang mga magulang. Pero dapat ang mga magulang mahiya rin sa kanilang mga anak, lalo pa’t bata ka pa at wala ka pang kakayahang buhayin ang sarili mo,” he said.

Shuvee also recalled a moment with friend Ashley Ortega, who once invited her to a steakhouse. At the time, she only had ₱4,000 left—money meant for bills—but still joined. To her relief, Ashley covered the bill, unaware it was all Shuvee had left.

Meanwhile, Shuvee Etrata is a model, actress, host, and content creator from Bantayan Island, Cebu. She rose to fame through Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition, where she shared her life struggles. She has since appeared in Hearts on Ice, Tadhana, and Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.
