BINI Mikha Responds to Basher Questioning Why She Doesn’t Like Balut

BINI Mikha Claps Back at Balut Question

MIKHA LIM – The BINI member responded to a fan who questioned why she didn’t like balut—the popular Filipino fertilized duck egg.

This happened after BINI joined a taste test on the YouTube channel People Vs. Food, where they tried famous Filipino street foods. When a fan asked Mikha, “Bakit ka muna nandiri sa balut?” she replied directly but playfully, saying, “Aw, kulang sa pansin ikaw? Sige na, I’ll give it to you now lang para happy ka ha?” Her comment quickly spread online, sparking conversations.

This exchange followed a wave of mixed reactions after the video was posted. In the video, BINI members—Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena—were seen trying local snacks like betamax (grilled pork or chicken blood), isaw (grilled intestines), kwek-kwek, taho, turon, hopiang baboy, and balut.

Some of the girls admitted it was their first time trying certain foods. Others showed hesitation, especially with balut and betamax. For example, Sheena tried to convince herself that betamax was like chocolate, but later said she just couldn’t do it. Jhoanna and Colet also held back, while Gwen said it simply wasn’t her thing. On the other hand, Aiah seemed to enjoy the street food she tasted.

Their reactions drew different opinions online. Some fans defended the girls, saying everyone has personal food preferences and shouldn’t be judged for disliking certain dishes. Others criticized them for being “too picky” or “overly dramatic,” and some even accused them of acting like K-pop idols, avoiding real reactions.

As of now, BINI’s management hasn’t released any statement regarding the issue. The debate continues online, with fans either supporting the girls or questioning why they didn’t embrace Filipino food more openly. For BINI, what was meant to be a fun taste test has turned into an unexpected controversy.
