Incoming Sen. Bam Aquino To Remain in Independent Bloc
BAM AQUINO – The incoming Senator junked the claim of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada that he’s likely to join the Senate majority in the 20th Congress.
Aquino is one of the returning senators in the 20th Congress. He made a huge win ranking second in the recently-held 2025 Midterm Elections. It was a “come-from-behind win” as described by former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.

Incoming Sen. Bam Aquino credited the youth for his 2025 Senatorial win. Many celebrities who also believe in his capacity to craft laws for the betterment of the country and the Filipino people also voluntarily endorsed and campaign for him. Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo who won as Naga Mayor was elated for the election win of both Aquino and incoming Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

Pangilinan ranked 5th in the results of the 2025 Midterm Elections. He and Aquino are expected to join Sen. Risa Hontiveros who previously confirmed forming an independent bloc. However, recently, Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada had a different pronouncement.

Sen. Jinggoy Estrada claimed that incoming senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan are allegedly likely to join the Senate majority in the 20th Congress. The Senate President Pro Tempore stressed that the senators in the majority bloc are most likely to get their desired committee for chairmanship.
Estrada further stressed that agriculture is the forte of Pangilinan. Amid the confusion that his statement has caused among the Kakampink supporters, incoming Sen. Bam Aquino junked the speculation raised by the Senate President Pro Tempore. Based on a report on PhilStar, he confirmed that he. incoming Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, and Sen. Risa Hontiveros will be in the same bloc.

“We’re still together in the independent bloc,” Aquino said.
Based on the report, incoming Sen. Bam Aquino admitted his interest to lead the Senate education panel. According to him, “the education crisis in our country needs to be addressed”. He stressed that it is important that they get the education panel and they have already discussed about it.
According to incoming Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, his priority is to get the committee chairmanship of the agriculture panel. He stressed that it is what he promised to his voters.

Previously, expressed sympathy for the senator following the remarks of Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Migz Zubiri invited Sen. Risa Hontiveros to join them in the veterans bloc.
