Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks about the Selling of Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, Honeylet Avanceña’s House in Davao
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President admitted her concern for her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, in case their house in Davao will be sold.
After he stepped down as the chief executive of the Philippines in 2022, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte returned to his hometown, Davao City. He was a former mayor and vice mayor of Davao for several years before he won the presidential race in 2016 with a landslide victory.

However, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is detained in The Hague, Netherlands for more than 100 days now. He is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC). Recently, it was reported that the house of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City is for sale.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s long-time partner, Honeylet Avanceña, confirmed the selling of their house in Davao City. According to her, she is hurt whenever she would visit their house. She does not stay there anymore after what happened to him and there were four (4) household helpers in the said house.
Avanceña also claimed that she is the only one who visits their residence from time to time. It is located at Doña Luisa Village in Barangay Matina in Davao. However, shortly after a “for sale” sign was hang at the gate of the residence of the former President, the sign was removed.

Reportedly, Davao acting mayor Baste Duterte had the “for sale” sign removed. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is allegedly against the selling of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and Honeylet Avanceña’s house in Davao. While she acknowledged that she has no share in the said property, she prefers it opened to the public so the people can see the house where the former President used to live.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who is currently in The Hague for scheduled visits to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke anew on the selling of the house of her father in Davao. Based on a report on GMA News, she thinks that the said property is under a co-ownership between her father and Honeylet Avanceña.

According to the Vice President, while Avanceña can have her share in the property sold, she cannot sell the entire property unless former Pres. Duterte agrees with it. Meanwhile, she stressed that it is really up to her father and his long-time partner on what arrangement to make.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte admitted her concern for her father in case the said house in Davao will be sold. Meanwhile, based on the report, she confirmed that he can stay with her mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman.
“As a daughter, I was just thinking where PRRD will live if they sell the house, this is one of my concerns,” the Vice President said.
The younger Duterte was asked if there is a blooming reconciliation between her parents following the offer of her mother to her father. According to her, there is no reconciliation but “just friendship” between her parents.
