Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks Anew on Pres. Bongbong Marcos Admin
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President slammed the administration of Pres. Bongbong Marcos anew over its alleged priorities.
Visibly, the rift between Marcos Jr. and Duterte is getting deeper and deeper. It became evident to the Filipino people when the Vice President resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education in 2024. She also totally left the Marcos Jr. Cabinet.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she has no ill feelings against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to her, she has a problem with the performance of the President as the leader of the country. She previously claimed that the sitting Chief Executive allegedly does not know how to be a president.

Undeniably, the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has triggered the issue between the Dutertes and the Marcoses. Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the government were also heavily criticized over the turn of events last March 11.
Pres. Marcos stressed that the issue between the former President and the International Criminal Court was already existing when he came into the picture. According to him, the government only moved in line with its commitment with the Interpol or the International Criminal Police Organization.

Malacañang also stressed that the government only did its job in the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Palace press undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro junked “betrayal” accusations against the President. However, as for Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the Chief Executive allegedly committed an impeachable offense in the arrest of her father.

The Department of Justice recently confirmed that it will ensure the safety of the witnesses against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his case before the ICC. According to DOJ chief Boying Remulla, they will also provide financial assistance to the witnesses in their travel to The Hague.
Malacañang was quick to clarify that it is not directly cooperating with the ICC as it will move in the protection of the witnesses. However, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, such development has saddened Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
According to the Vice President, it is sad that the government will be using its funds for the witnesses against the former President instead of helping the Filipinos caught in the war between Iran and Israel. She claimed that the Philippine government is allegedly slow in making a move for the Filipinos in the war-engaged countries.
“Nakakalungkot dahil unang una sinasabi nila walang ebidensiya, pero meron sila ngayong witnesses, at kaya naman pala bayaran ‘yung pagbabiyahe pero nakakalungkot dahil sobrang bagal ng galaw nila para sa ating mga kababayan na naiipit sa kaguluhan sa Iran at Israel,” she said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte raised a question on the priorities of the administration of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to her, the current admin allegedly prioritizes politics over its people.
“Kaya nakikita natin eh, at nakikita ng taong bayan, ano ba talaga ang priorities ng administration na ito. Apparently puro politika lang, paninira lang sa pulitika ang prayoridad at hindi yung mga mamamayan,” the Vice President said.
Previously, on the impeachment process against her, Vice Pres. Duterte said Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly has the “hallmark of a scammer” after he claimed that he has no role in the matter.
