Atong Ang to File Complaint Against Totoy Over Missing Sabungeros

Atong Ang Hits Back, Files Case Against Totoy

ATONG ANG – The businessman and gaming tycoon is set to file a complaint affidavit on Thursday, July 3, 2025, against a man known as alias “Totoy.” This comes after Totoy accused Ang of being the mastermind behind the disappearance of several cockfighting enthusiasts, known locally as sabungeros.

Totoy, a former security guard at the Manila Arena where cockfighting events were held, gave disturbing details in his statement. He claimed that the missing men were strangled with wire, tied to sand-filled sacks, and thrown into Taal Lake. According to him, he once worked closely with the person behind the operation and identified about 30 people, including police officers and civilians, who were allegedly involved.

Totoy also revealed that a popular female celebrity may be connected to the case. While he didn’t mention her name, he described her as an “alpha member” of the group who attended meetings and seemed to know exactly what was going on.

He said his affidavit is ready, but he’s waiting to gather more evidence and get witness protection before officially submitting it. Totoy admitted that he fears for his life and hopes to be accepted as a state witness. In the meantime, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has ordered the re-arrest of Totoy and other suspects as investigations continue.

Justice Secretary Boying Remulla also spoke about the case during a media interview on June 26. He confirmed that the person behind the disappearances is not just any suspect, but someone wealthy and powerful—with the influence to bribe officials even within the judicial system. He said, “The enemy here is strong because their money can even reach the judiciary. That’s why we need to talk to the Chief Justice.”

Remulla expressed his support for Totoy, especially since the witness not only gave a detailed statement but also submitted video evidence to back up his claims. The case continues to raise serious concerns about corruption and justice in the country.
