Vlogger Apologizes for Lying Inside Alfamart Freezer
VIVIAN VINUYA – A content creator who went viral for lying inside a freezer at an Alfamart branch in Pampanga has issued a public apology following backlash and threats of legal action from the convenience store chain.
In a Facebook live video, Vinuya apologized for her actions, assuring the public that she had no harmful intentions and that the stunt was simply meant to be part of her vlog content. Despite the apology, the tone of her video included humor, which some netizens found insincere. She also addressed and denied the flood of harsh online comments, including sarcastic questions asking if she was a fish, if the ice now smelled bad, or if the freezer had become unsanitary.
Alfamart responded swiftly to the incident, releasing an official statement confirming that all the ice inside the freezer had been discarded and the entire unit had undergone thorough cleaning and sanitation. The company also made it clear that it would proceed with legal action not only against Vinuya but also against anyone who attempts to replicate such actions, citing the need to protect their brand and the health and safety of their customers.
The company emphasized the seriousness of the matter by stating that it is taking legal steps against those responsible for the misuse of their equipment and warned others not to imitate similar stunts.
On social media, many netizens urged Alfamart to follow through with the case. On Reddit, some users raised concerns about possible health risks, such as exposure to bodily fluids and bacteria. Meanwhile, others criticized Vinuya’s apology as insincere. On TikTok, the incident drew hundreds of thousands of views, particularly from reaction channels and vloggers who commented on the controversy.
