Cassandra Ynares Says Bimby is Just a Friend
CASSANDRA YNARES – The daughter of Antipolo Mayor Junjun Ynares and Andrea “Andeng” Bautista-Ynares quickly and firmly denied rumors that Bimby Aquino is courting her.
In a brief interview after joining the 2025 Maytime Antipolo Festival on May 17, Cassandra addressed the issue, saying she and Bimby are simply close friends. Cassandra, the 17-year-old daughter of Mayor Jun and Andrea Ynares, also shared that their friendship began even before the pandemic.
She mentioned how kind Bimby’s mother, Kris Aquino, has been to her. In fact, she recently visited Kris and felt honored by her warm words. “Very grateful po that Tita Kris likes me like that. Thank you,” Cassandra said. However, when asked if she’s Kris’s “favorite girl” for Bimby, she smiled and responded shyly, “Puwede ba, secret na lang?”
Cassandra praised Bimby for being supportive of her advocacy work in Antipolo. She runs the Cassama Foundation, which focuses on promoting mental health awareness among students. Their goal is to ensure that the youth are emotionally well so they can thrive in school and in their communities. “We want to make sure that the citizens of Antipolo first are okay and they’re doing well,” she shared.
Regarding the rumors linking her to Bimby, Cassandra said they don’t talk about it and choose to ignore what people say online. “We’re just really close and it’s so nice to have a friend in that industry as well,” she said with a smile. She also added that she enjoys his company, describing Bimby as “a good friend.”
Many netizens reacted positively to a TikTok video of the two dancing to “Me Jalo,” but Cassandra wasn’t even aware of its popularity. Despite the growing interest in their possible “love team,” Cassandra clarified that she’s not ready for a relationship and isn’t allowed to have a boyfriend yet.
As for entering showbiz, Cassandra said she still needs to discuss it with her mom. Finishing her studies remains her top priority for now. “But hopefully, yeah. Hindi po ako sure, e,” she said.
