Where Is Karen Lopez? Family and Friends Are Worried
KAREN LOPEZ – A 21-year-old rising star from VMX (formerly Vivamax), has been missing for two days, causing deep concern among those close to her—especially her talent manager, Lito De Guzman.
According to Lito, the last time anyone saw Karen was around 12 noon on Monday, May 5, 2025. Since then, all communication with her has stopped. He shared that Karen was supposedly picked up from her condominium by her boyfriend, but both of them have since become unreachable. “Dalawang araw na siyang nawawala. Sinundo raw ng boyfriend sa condo unit niya pero pareho na silang hindi namin makontak. Hindi na rin siya active sa Messenger, Viber, at WhatsApp kaya kinakabahan na kaming lahat,” he told PEP.ph.
Adding to their concern, Karen failed to appear on the final day of filming for her latest VMX movie, Maalikaya, directed by Roman Perez Jr., which was scheduled for Wednesday, May 7. Lito explained that this was highly unusual. “Alam naman niya na may shooting schedule siya today so expected na sisipot siya kasi siya nga ang bida. 6 A.M. ang calltime niya, hindi naman nale-late yon. Natataranta na kaming lahat. Wala siya sa set at wala pa sa condo na inuuwian niya,” he said.
Since Karen has always been professional and punctual, her sudden disappearance is deeply alarming. Lito has not yet filed a missing person report, as he is waiting to coordinate with Karen’s family. He only agreed to make the situation public in hopes that media coverage might help locate her.
Karen first gained attention through her performances in VMX films Habal and Babae sa Butas, and she was recently cast in her first leading role in Maalikaya. Her career was just beginning to rise, making her disappearance even more heartbreaking.
As of now, there are still no updates regarding her whereabouts or the location of her boyfriend, who was last seen with her. Everyone close to Karen is hoping she reaches out soon to let them know she’s safe. Lito’s only wish is for Karen to make any form of contact—just to ease the growing fear for her safety.
