Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Endorses Sen. Imee Marcos amid Feud with BBM
SARA DUTERTE – Amid her feud with President Bongbong Marcos, the Vice President asserted that his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, is different from him.
The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has created a huge gap between the Dutertes and the Marcoses including their supporters. Meanwhile, not for Vice Pres. Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos. While others may doubt it, their friendship persists amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government now.

Former Pres. Duterte’s controversial arrest earned Pres. Bongbong Marcos criticisms. Amid the bashing, Sen. Imee Marcos led a Senate investigation on the arrest of the former President and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is thankful for it. The Senator stressed that she could not accept what was done to Duterte.

Sen. Imee Marcos also left the BBM-led Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago. According to her, the recent actions of the government on the arrest of Duterte do not align with her ideals and principles in life. She expressed that she would rather campaign with her friends who are local candidates.

Vice Pres. Duterte previously said that she does not have the call with regards to whether or not the PDP Laban can adopt Sen. Marcos. Meanwhile, when she returned to the country, she started campaigning for the presidential sister.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte endorsed Sen. Imee Marcos through the viral “ITIM” campaign ad. Aside from the Senator, the Vice President is also campaigning for the PDP Laban senatorial bets as well as the senatorial candidacy of Manny Villar’s daughter, Las Piñas City Representative Camille Villar who is seeking to switch posts with Sen. Cynthia Villar.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos joined the campaign sortie of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Based on a report on GMA News, at the event, the Vice President asserted that the Senator is different from her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
“Magkaiba si Senator Imee Marcos at si BBM. Tulad na lang rin ng example ko—na hindi parehong tao at magkaiba din kami ni [dating] Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at iba din si Inday Sara,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stressed her trust on the work ethics of Sen. Imee Marcos. According to her, the Senator does not neglect her problems as well as those of the country’s. She also expressed that Sen. Marcos thinks and gives solutions.
“Hindi niya pinapabayaan ang problema niya. Ang problema ng bayan, hindi niya pinapabayaan ang mga pangako niya. Nagbibigay siya ng solusyon at nag-iisip siya,” she expressed.
Previously, after his sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, has left the grand alliance, Pres. Bongbong Marcos changed the chant of the Alyansa at a campaign sortie.
