Former Police Officer Shares Reason Behind His Decision to Quit Job

A former police officer opened up about his decision to leave the force, saying, “we’re being used for someone else’s gain.”

Recently, Ragasa Jr. Ditz, a Facebook user, shared his reasons for quitting his job, saying, he could no longer serve under a system that prioritizes personal interests over genuine service. The post elicited comments online.

Ditz recalled how he once wore his uniform with great pride, especially during the Duterte administration. Back then, he believed that his work truly contributed to making the country safer.

He and his fellow officers were putting their lives on the line, enduring long hours, and making sacrifices, because they believed in the mission of serving the people.

However, things changed under the current administration. The sense of purpose he once had slowly faded as he started seeing how politics and personal agendas took priority over real service.

The dedication of officers like him seemed to be overlooked, and instead of working for the good of the country, they were being used to serve the interests of a few.

Feeling disheartened, he finally made the tough decision to step away. He could no longer wear the uniform with the same pride and honor he once had. Although leaving was difficult, he knew it was the right thing to do.

Despite stepping away, he remains hopeful that future officers will find a way to restore true integrity in the profession.

I used to wear this uniform with so much pride during the Duterte administration. Every day, I carried the badge with dignity, knowing that the work we were doing was for the betterment of our country, for the people. We fought hard, bled, sweated, and sacrificed so much, believing we were part of something bigger, something meaningful.

But now, under the BBM administration, it’s hard to feel the same way. The pride I once had is slowly fading. The ideals we fought for now seem overshadowed by politics, greed, and selfish interests. We’re still out here doing our jobs, but it feels like the cause we once believed in has been lost. The sacrifice we made feels taken for granted, and it’s disheartening to see how we’re being used for someone else’s gain.

I’ve decided it’s time to sign off. I can no longer wear this uniform with the pride and honor it once carried. It’s been an honor to serve, but I can’t ignore the reality any longer. I hope that someday, those who come after us will wear it with true pride, not for the politicians, but for the people who deserve better.
