Celebrity couple Drew Arellano and Iya Villania recently welcomed their fifth child, Anya Love Villania-Arellano. The proud parents shared the joyous news on Instagram, posting a photo of their newborn daughter along with her birth details.
Before giving birth, Iya took to Instagram to share a video of herself cleaning while endorsing a product. Among those who commented was none other than her husband, Drew. In the comment section, he jokingly wrote, “Buntis ka na naman?!?!” to which Iya playfully responded, “abaaa! More pa ba?” A netizen then humorously added, “ma’am ipakapon nyo na po si sir Drew, (emojis) charoot HAHAHA.”
“Kapon” is a Filipino term for castration or sterilization, commonly used for animals like cats and dogs to prevent reproduction. In human context, it is sometimes jokingly used to refer to vasectomy (a medical procedure for male sterilization) or orchiectomy (surgical removal of the testicles).
In Drew Arellano’s case, the term was used humorously by a netizen, suggesting that he undergo a vasectomy to prevent having more children. Coincidentally, during a guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Drew hinted that he might actually go through with the procedure soon.
While delivering a birthday message to Iya, the Biyahe ni Drew host casually mentioned, “You’re the best mother to all the kids, and, uh, I will do my vasectomy soon.” His statement made Iya laugh, but she confirmed that it was part of their family planning. “That’s our plan,” Drew reiterated, though Iya jokingly added, “Until he gets it done, we never know, right?”
