Celebrity Veterinarian Doc Ferds Recio Reveals a Famous Vlogger Abandons a Dog and Refuses to Pay for Its Treatment

DOC FERDS RECIO – The celebrity veterinarian took to social media, where he shared that a famous vlogger abandoned a dog and refused to pay for its treatment.

Ferdinand “Ferds” Recio is a multi-talented veterinarian and media personality best known as the long-time host of GMA Network’s popular wildlife and travel show ‘Born To Be Wild’, which has been on air for 11 years as of 2018. He is a 2000 graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Veterinary Medicine System and, interestingly, also holds a nursing degree.

During his university years at UPLB, he was considered a campus heartthrob and was actively involved in various school activities. Despite initially planning to migrate to the United States, he chose to stay in the Philippines and become the host of ‘Born To Be Wild’, a decision that significantly shaped his career.

Beyond his veterinary and media work, Recio is an adventurous individual. He is a trained scuba diver, a skill he occasionally employs during his show. He is also passionate about travel, enjoying visits to scenic locations in the Philippines and international destinations like Dubai and New York. In 2017, he was recognized for his work, receiving the Sotero Laurel Media Personality of the Year award at the Laurel Wreath Awards.

Recio maintains an active lifestyle, regularly working out to stay in shape. He also owns the Doc Ferds Animal Wellness Center located in Diliman, Quezon City, where he provides veterinary services.

The celebrity veterinarian recently took to social media, where he posted a blind item about a famous vlogger. According to him, the said vlogger refused to pay the P15,000 confinement fees for the treatment of a dog suffering from blood parasitism and abandoned the pet. Fortunately, someone volunteered to take good care of the dog.

“A well-known vlogger refused to pay the P15,000 confinement fees for treating this sweet dog’s blood parasitism and abandoned him completely. Fortunately, someone else stepped in and gave him a loving home, where he’s now thriving,” he wrote.
