Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Compares Gov’t Response on her, Arnie Teves Issues
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that the Marcos administration is allegedly using the ‘Arnie Teves playbook’ on her.
Countless news reports crossed the surface following the recent remarks of Vice Pres. Duterte. It is undeniable that the souring relationship between her and Pres. Bongbong Marcos is getting out of hand already.
Duterte recently threw tirades against Marcos and his family. Duterte accused the Marcoses of allegedly masterminding the death of the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino. The Marcoses and the Aquinos are political rivals but the latter is now silent in the field of politics.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also expressed her “final wish” in case an alleged plot against her succeeds. According to her, she wants the death of Pres. Bongbong Marcos; his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos; and his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The said remarks of Duterte earned reactions not only from the ordinary Filipinos but from Pres. Bongbong Marcos himself. The Chief Executive rarely reacts to Duterte’s remarks but, this time, stressed that some statements have become alarming.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also accused First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos of allegedly being the one behind the envelopes with cash given to DepEd officials. A legal expert said that she could face charges and disbarment over her remarks.
The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI also released a subpoena against Duterte. She is requested by the investigation bureau to appear at their headquarters on Friday to explain her remarks against the President. As for the Vice President, her statement was allegedly taken out of context.
Based on a report on GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently compared her situation with that of former Congressman Arnie Teves. The latter is currently in Timor Leste where an extradition case is being heard. He is accused as the alleged mastermind behind the death of the late former Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
According to Duterte, the government is allegedly using a “playbook” to her similar to what was done to Teves. She also claimed that the government allegedly wants to access her assets and properties.
“Sinusubukan nila to reach sa aking properties and assets,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that people with the same complaint filed by the NBI against her may face a cancelled passport and their name placed on the Interpol red notice. Anti-money laundering charges may also be filed.
“Ifre-freeze nila yung pera at properties mo. Hindi ka makakagasto ng pera at hindi ka makakapasok sa properties mo,” Duterte said.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she believes that the Marcos government is allegedly doing what it can so a case can be filed over her remarks. To it, the President nor anyone from the authority has yet to issue a statement.
“I believe pipilit nilang talaga gawan ng kaso yung mga remarks ko,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Duterte said that there is no point of return on her relationship with Pres. Marcos. The Vice President claimed that his government wants her removed from office.
