AEGIS – The iconic OPM band released an official statement following the passing of their lead vocalist, Mercy Sunot.
The music industry is grieving the loss of Mercy Sunot, a member of the OPM band Aegis, who passed away earlier today. Prior to her death, she opened up about her health condition in an emotional TikTok video, requesting prayers from her followers. She shared that she had undergone surgery for breast and lung cancer, but after the procedure, she faced difficulty breathing and was admitted to the ICU. Doctors discovered fluid in her lungs and inflammation.
To manage this, Mercy was given steroid treatment to prevent further complications. In her video, she tearfully asked her supporters to pray for her swift recovery, using the hashtags #breastcancerwarrior and #lungcancerwarrior.
