Detained Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Allowed by Court To Go For Check-Up
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The detained Pastor was briefly brought to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center for more tests then returned to Philippine Heart Center.
Early in September, Pastor Quiboloy was arrested by the PNP (Philippine National Police) after a few weeks of intensified search operations inside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ or KOJC compound in Davao City. Several charges were filed against the Pastor but he was in hiding for several months.
Pastor Quiboloy is the leader and founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Reportedly, the Pastor is also facing charges abroad. Prior to his arrest, his camp expressed that the Pastor wanted to surrender to the authorities upon a condition that President Bongbong Marcos will guarantee that he will not be turned over to foreign authorities.
Marcos Jr. did not give in to the condition set by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and the PNP search operations continued. His lawyer, Attorney Israelito Torreon, described the arrest of the Pastor as “ultimate sacrifice” saying that he could no longer afford to see the situation inside the KOJC compound and the experiences of his members.
The PNP activities inside the KOJC compound allegedly included drilling operations. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who is close to the Pastor and his church apologized to the KOJC members for seeking their support for Marcos Jr. in 2022 amid the search operations happening under his administration.
According to VP Sara, she was allegedly on a “mistaken belief” of unity and continuity. Currently, he is detained in the Philippine Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
However, Pastor Quiboloy was brought to the hospital last November 8 due to irregular heartbeat and chest discomfort. Recently, the Court allowed the 74-year-old KOJC Leader to be checked at the hospital. Based on a report on GMA News, he was brought to the Philippine Heart Center.
PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo also confirmed that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy was briefly brought to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center from Philippine Heart Center for some tests. She stressed that the two (2) hospitals are just close to each other.
“Around 9:10 po ay naibalik na rin po siay Philippine Heart Center,” the PNP Spokesperson said.
Based on the report, Pastor Quiboloy is expected to return to his detention cell in Camp Crame by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pastor is running as an independent candidate for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections. His lawyer filed his candidacy for senator and he is one of the senatorial candidates deemed valid by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte said he will campaign for Pastor Quiboloy. The two (2) of them are close friends ever since and the latter is the spiritual adviser of the former Chief Executive.
