Sen. Imee Marcos Asked To Comment on VP Sara Duterte’s Remarks vs. BBM, Marcos Sr.
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator prefers to move on from the tirades of Vice President Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and their late father.
The public witnessed the souring relationship between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos. They were running mates in the 2022 Elections but the Filipinos noticed a falling out in their relationship when Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education) and left the Marcos cabinet.
When Marcos Jr. left the Philippines for the ASEAN Summit, the country was left under the care of a committee that was formed for the task. Duterte was not the “caretaker” of the country. The Chief Executive explained that it would be unfair for the Vice President as she is no longer part of the administration.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also aired fiery tirades against Pres. Bongbong Marcos which earned the reaction of Sandro Marcos, the son of the president. He stressed that the Vice President “crossed the line” and he hopes she find peace of mind and mental clarity.
Duterte rated Marcos Jr. with “one” when asked to rate his performance as president as from 1-10 with 10 as the highest. According to the Vice President, the Chief Executive does not know how to be a president. She also theatened to throw the remains of Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea if the alleged attacks against her won’t stop.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that it is really Sen. Imee Marcos who is her friend. According to her, she and BBM only talked when they became running mates and they only talked about the campaign and work.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos was asked to comment on the fiery remarks of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, and the threat to exhume and throw the body of Marcos Sr. into the WPS. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Senator claimed that she is not upset with what Duterte said.
Marcos stressed that she does not want to be in a conflict with anyone as she wants to be able to connect with any alliance. Based on the report, she wants that she can talk to anyone.
“Ang importante sa akin nakakatawid ako kahit anong alyansa, lahat nakakausap ko. Ayokong nakikipag-away. Sinasabi matapang ako, mataray pa. Oo, totoo ‘yan,” the Senator said.
According to Sen. Imee Marcos, she would rather work than to be in fights. Senator Imee previously withdrew from Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ senatorial slate.
