Gabbi Garcia Admits She Had a Hard Time Letting Go of Ruru Madrid
GABBI GARCIA – Kapuso star Gabbi Garcia revealed she struggled to move on from fellow actor Ruru Madrid.
In an interview on the talk show “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” actress Gabbi Garcia opened up about her past relationship with fellow Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid. During the show’s signature “Fast Talk” segment, the actress was asked a series of quick and revealing questions by the King of Talk himself, Boy Abunda.
One question, in particular, sparked a wave of attention from fans as it delved into her past love life with Ruru.
Tito Boy, known for his sharp yet respectful interviewing style, asked Gabbi, “Guilty or not guilty: it was hard to move on?” Without hesitation, Gabbi responded, “Guilty.” After a playful nudge from Tito Boy, he added, “To Ruru!” With a smile, Gabbi confirmed, “My first love, eh.”
Gabbi’s honesty about her first love with Ruru resonated with viewers. Despite being in a happy and stable relationship with actor Khalil Ramos, Gabbi didn’t shy away from acknowledging the emotional difficulties she faced after their breakup.
Gabbi Garcia admitted that moving on from her first love wasn’t easy, explaining how first loves often leave a deep, lasting impression.
Boy Abunda commended the Sparkle star for her candidness and praised her for being so open about such a personal experience. Gabbi also shared how her current boyfriend, Khalil, is understanding and supportive of her past. “He’s very open,” Gabbi said proudly. “He’s a smart person, he can handle things.”
Interestingly, Ruru Madrid had also previously shared on the same show that Gabbi was his only girlfriend before he entered into a relationship with actress Bianca Umali. Reflecting on their youthful romance, Ruru revealed that they were just teenagers—Gabbi was 15, and he was 16—when they started dating. Their relationship grew naturally while they worked together as a love team, spending much of their time together on set.
Though both Gabbi and Ruru have moved on to new relationships, their first love story remains a cherished memory for both the actors and their fans alike.
