Liam Payne Passes Billions in Assets to His Only Son
LIAM PAYNE – The former One Direction member has left an estimated £56 million (approximately PHP 4 billion) in assets to his only child, Bear Grey, who is 7 years old. Liam tragically passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 31, after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Liam accumulated his wealth through his successful career as a musician, including his time with One Direction, along with concerts, tours, and endorsements. He was notably the first global brand ambassador for the German fashion brand Hugo Boss from 2019 to 2020. In 2021, he launched his own company with the release of a non-fungible token (NFT) digital artwork collection called Lonely Bug.
Before his passing, Liam openly shared that all of his earnings and companies would be passed on to Bear Grey. In a 2022 appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Liam expressed that his life and money now belonged to his son, giving him the freedom to manage or sell the businesses he started. He emphasized that it would ultimately be Bear’s choice whether to run or sell them in the future.
Liam’s ex-partner and Bear’s mother, singer Cheryl Cole, has criticized the media’s coverage of his death, calling it sensationalized and intrusive. She stated that such headlines disrespected Liam’s memory and were harmful to those close to him, especially their young son.
Liam’s journey to fame began at 14 when he first auditioned for The X Factor UK in 2008. Two years later, he became a member of One Direction, a boy band formed by Simon Cowell. The band achieved international stardom, attracting numerous endorsements from global brands and laying the foundation for Liam’s significant wealth. Even after One Direction’s hiatus, Liam remained active in the entertainment industry, building a strong career that would ultimately benefit his son.
