According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos only talked when they became running mates and they only talked about campaign and work. The statement of Vice Pres. Duterte brought Pres. Marcos a feeling of probably being deceived.

The Chief Executive admitted that he’s a little dismayed upon knowing that Duterte does not consider him as a friend. However, the recent statements of the Vice President showed a deeper rift between them.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she told Senator Imee Marcos that she will exhume and throw the body of Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea if the attacks against her don’t stop. She also expressed that Pres. Marcos does not know how to be a president.

When asked to rate the governance of Pres. Marcos from 1 to 10 with 10 as the highest, the Vice President rated the President one. She also slammed the President for his response on his “deception” remarks saying that he has a lot of time and he must be thinking about the problems of the country.

Following the strong remarks against the remains of Marcos Sr., the DOJ is studying the legal consequences of the statements of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the study is confirmed by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.

Based on the report, the DOJ Secretary stressed that it desecrated the memory and peaceful state that the deceased must be in. He stressed that there are moral principles violated.

“It desecrates the memory of a person, it desecrates the peaceful state that he must be in… There are many other moral principles that are being violated, and we are looking at the legal aspects also,” Remulla said.

Vice Pres. Duterte has yet to respond on the statement of the DOJ Secretary. Amid the rift, Sen. Cynthia Villar hopes that Vice Pres. Duterte and Pres. Marcos Jr. will be able to patch things up.
