One Direction Fan Holds Mock Wake for Liam Payne

Mock Wake for Liam Payne Sparks Mixed Reactions

LIAM PAYNE – A dedicated One Direction fan created a mock wake to honor the late singer, who passed away on October 16.

In a social media post, user GRSB showcased her preparations for the wake, which included a casket, flowers, and a large portrait of Liam. She expressed her feelings about not being able to attend his actual wake by stating, “Yung hindi ka makapunta sa lamay ni Liam kaya nagpagawa ka ng sarili mong lamay.” The event was reportedly open to other Directioners.

However, not all netizens approved of her actions. Some expressed disappointment, including fellow One Direction fans who felt the gesture was inappropriate. One commenter, Vess, highlighted that during Liam’s life, he lacked support, and it was sad that attention only came after his passing, stating, “While he was alive, no one came to comfort him ..so sad.”

Others, like Primajosa, suggested that a simple display of photos would have sufficed instead of the elaborate setup. Iska offered a more drastic suggestion, noting it would have been more meaningful if Liam could have lain in the casket, symbolizing his passing. The fan’s plans for a mock burial for her idol remain unknown.

The former One Direction member was found dead after a tragic fall from the third floor of CasaSur, a hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Authorities are currently investigating whether the incident, which occurred on the afternoon of October 16, 2024, was accidental or intentional.

Liam is survived by his seven-year-old son, Bear Grey, whom he shares with singer Cheryl Cole. Despite openly discussing his struggles with addiction and mental health issues in a 2021 interview, his death has left the music world and his fans mourning the loss of the 31-year-old artist.
