Lawmaker Says VP Sara Duterte Should Seek ‘Psychological Assessment’

SARA DUTERTE – A lawmaker suggested that Vice President Sara Duterte should seek ‘psychological assessment’ after her alarming threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

House Assistant Majority Leader and Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun has urged Vice President Sara Duterte to undergo a “psychological assessment” following her alarming threats against PBBM and his family. Khonghun made the call on Sunday, October 17, in response to Duterte’s controversial statements during a press conference.

In the press conference, Duterte revealed that she had warned Senator Imee Marcos, the President’s sister, about ongoing political attacks from the administration. Duterte threatened to exhume the body of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and throw it into the West Philippine Sea if the attacks persisted. Additionally, she admitted to having imagined cutting off President Marcos Jr.’s head, further heightening the controversy.

Jay Khonghun expressed grave concern over Sara Duterte’s remarks, stating that no rational person would think of or express such statements. “No reasonable person would conceive of, much less make, this kind of statement. The level of irrationality in her words is deeply alarming,” Khonghun said in Filipino. He emphasized the need for Duterte to undergo a thorough psychological evaluation to determine if she remains fit to hold such a critical position in government.

Khonghun highlighted that these alarming statements point to issues beyond the misuse of public funds, which has been a concern in the current administration. He stressed that Duterte’s behavior suggests deeper problems that must be addressed immediately for the sake of the nation’s leadership.

He further emphasized that the country deserves leaders who are both mentally and emotionally stable, especially during challenging times.

Both Khonghun and Ortega emphasized the importance of addressing these concerns to safeguard the strength, stability, and capability of the nation’s leadership.
