Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Claims She Threatened Sen. Imee Marcos over Attacks against her
SARA DUTERTE – On the alleged attacks against her, the Vice President said she told Senator Imee Marcos she’ll throw the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s body into the West Philippine Sea if it will continue.
Since Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd or the Department of Education, the public witnessed a falling out in the ties between her and Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The Vice President also resigned from her position as the vice chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
Then, Duterte said that her decision to leave the helm of the education department is out of compassion for the teachers and the students. After a while, the Vice President admitted that the reasons include both personal and work reasons in her decision to leave the Marcos cabinet.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte apologized to the members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ for seeking their support for Marcos in the 2022 Elections. Her apology came amid the Philippine government conducting intensified search operations inside the KOJC compound in the search for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
In a separate interview, Vice Pres. Duterte also said that she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos are not really friends. She stressed that she will not team up with the Marcoses again in the future elections. According to the Vice President, it was really Senator Imee Marcos who is her friend.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos believes that he might have been deceived as VP Duterte downplayed their ties. On the Vice President leaving the other government positions given to her, the Chief Executive expressed acceptance of her decision.
After claiming that she and Sen. Imee Marcos are the ones who are really friends, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she allegedly warned the Senator if the “attacks” against her will continue. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President said she told the Presidential Sister that she will throw away the body of the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea if the attacks will not stop.
“Hindi ko alam. Isang beses sinabihan ko talaga si Sen. Imee (Marcos), ‘pag ‘di tumigil, huhukayin ko ang tatay ninyo at itatapon ko sya sa West Philippine Sea,” VP Sara said based on the report.
For decades, the remains of the late former Pres. Marcos were preserved as there were oppositions in burying him in the Heroes’ Cemetery in Taguig. Under the Duterte administration, the Marcos family was allowed to bury their patriarch in the said cemetery where former Chief Executives are laid to rest.
According to VP Sara, she made the statement in a group chat and there were other people who saw it. However, the Senator allegedly did not respond.
Duterte previously expressed her belief that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) is being attacked as she is starting to speak up. Recently, Pres. Marcos also made it clear why VP Sara is not the caretaker of the Philippines when he is away.
Marcos Jr. recently flew to Lao for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit. While the President is away, the PH government has set a committee which is composed of the caretakers of the Philippines. However, it sparked confusion when it was announced that the caretaker is not the vice president.
