CEBU – An SK chairman in Tuburan was arrested for stealing money from a staff member of the Mayor’s Office.

The 21-year-old SK chair took more than 30,000 pesos from a bag belonging to the mayor’s 48-year-old executive assistant. The incident was captured on CCTV, which showed the SK chairperson taking the money while visiting the office.

According to the police report, the executive assistant had briefly left her bag unattended when the suspect took the opportunity to steal the cash. After the theft, the suspect spent most of the money on shopping, leaving only 3,000 pesos to be recovered when apprehended by the authorities.
