Sara Duterte on Teaming up with Marcoses: “Never again”

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Attends House Hearing but Leaves Early

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President was asked about the possibility of teaming up with the Marcoses again in the future elections.

Following her absence at the House hearing that earned Vice Pres. Duterte a “bratinella” tag, the Vice President recently showed up at the hearing of the House panel investigating the use of the fund of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

However, Vice Pres. Duterte’s actions like the refusal to take an oath caught the attention of many people. In her speech, she also accused the members of the House of allegedly lodging a political attack against her. She claimed that it is not a hearing for misuse of fund and accountability but to stain her reputation.

Duterte stressed at the House hearing that there was no misuse of funds of the Office of the Vice President. She also asserted that the OVP did nothing wrong. According to her, if there are audit findings, they at the OVP are ready to face it before the Commission on Audit.

The Vice President also expressed that if there are cases filed against the OVP, they will face it at the court. She also left the House of Representatives early to avoid clash with the members.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, at a quick interview at the House of Representatives, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about Pres. Bongbong Marcos. There are currently a lot of questions on the seemingly falling out tandem of the election running-mates.

The speculations and questions surfaced after Duterte unexpectedly resigned from the Cabinet of Marcos. She left the Department of Education and she also claimed that there is no label to her relationship with the President. According to her, they have not talked or seen each other.

At the House of Representatives, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about the possibility of teaming up again with the Marcoses in the future elections. However, the Vice President has a surprising and straight answer:

“Never again,” the Vice President said.

Based on the report, when asked to elaborate her statement, Vice Pres. Duterte laughed and invited for a sit-down interview. She claimed that they did not start as friends and they only knew each other when they became running-mates and they just talk about work.

Previously, amid the intensified search of the authorities for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Vice Pres. Duterte apologized to the KOJC members for seeking their support for Marcos during the 2022 elections.
