MJ Cayabyab, co-host of Willie Revillame from Wil To Win has Resigned
MJ CAYABYAB – The singer and actor has confirmed his resignation as co-host of Willie Revillame’s show Wil To Win on TV5, which had just premiered in July.
Cayabyab was part of the co-host lineup alongside Ana Ramsey, Cindy Miranda, Boobsie, Sam Verzosa, and Roberta Tamondong. He became emotional when Kuya Wil recounted in one of the episodes how they met and how the host encouraged him to audition. “Nag-doubt ako kasi hindi ko alam kung kaya ko,” said MJ.
On July 9, he proudly announced his involvement in the show, stating, “As your new Co-host of Wil To Win! Malapit na sa Tv5. Thankyou kuya wil. Excited na magpasaya ng milyon milyong Pilipino #WilToWin.”
However, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on August 27, over a month later, MJ Cayabyab confirmed his departure from the show, citing personal reasons. “For those who are messaging me ‘bakit wala kana sa Wil To Win as co host’ Nag Resign na po ako for some personal reason. But thankyou guys for your concern. I am okay. Thankyou everyone,” MJ stated. He did not elaborate on the personal reasons behind his departure.
It is worth noting that a few days after the premiere of Wil To Win, the show attracted attention due to Willie Revillame’s reprimands of the co-hosts and production staff for various mistakes. Willie clarified that his intentions were to ensure the smooth operation of the program. However, most advised him to address issues with co-hosts and staff privately rather than on-air.
Meanwhile, Wil To Win is a Philippine television variety and game show that airs on TV5. Hosted by Willie Revillame, the show premiered on July 14, 2024, and is broadcast on weekdays as part of TV5’s Todo Max Primetime Singko lineup. The program features a mix of variety show elements and game segments, including interactive games and segments such as “Hep Hep Hooray,” “Cookie to Win,” “Sakorera,” and “Putukan Na!” It also features future segments like “Willie of Fortune” and “Pera o Kahon.”
