Raffy Tulfo Vows to Resign from TV5 if Network Ignores Talent’s Complaint Against Manager
RAFFY TULFO – The senator has threatened to leave his TV5 show if the network fails to act on a misconduct complaint filed by a 22-year-old talent/news researcher against TV5’s News and Public Affairs program manager, Cliff Gingco.
Tulfo expressed his anger during his radio program “Wanted sa Radyo” on August 9, 2024, after hearing the talent’s account of alleged inappropriate behavior by Gingco. The talent claimed the incident occurred after Gingco invited him for drinks and later took advantage of him in a hotel room when he was too intoxicated to resist.
Tulfo was disappointed to learn that TV5’s management had advised Gingco not to speak publicly about the allegations, which prevented Tulfo from getting Gingco’s side of the story. Tulfo questioned why the management had not issued a show-cause order to Gingco, similar to what Tulfo and his brothers received when complaints were filed against them during their time with TV5. He challenged the network to conduct a thorough investigation and suspend Gingco while it is ongoing, expressing disbelief that the management seemed to be protecting Gingco.
Tulfo emphasized that he would not condone such behavior, even if it meant losing his show. He criticized the network for allegedly covering up the incident and urged them to prioritize justice for the victim. Tulfo also reassured the public that Gingco’s actions did not reflect the values of TV5’s News and Public Affairs department.
Shortly after Tulfo’s outburst, TV5 management released a statement acknowledging the complaint and confirming that an investigation was underway. The network promised to protect the rights of all parties involved and asked the public to withhold judgment until the investigation is complete. The talent involved stated that he reported the incident immediately after it occurred but felt that his complaints were initially dismissed by the network.
