VP Sara Duterte Slams Claims of PNP Chief Rommel Marbil
SARA DUTERTE – Following the removal of 75 cops assigned for her security, the Vice President released an open letter for PNP chief Rommel Marbil.
Currently, there are a lot of questions on the ties between President Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte as well as the recent events between her and the Philippine National Police. Following Duterte’s resignation as the Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary, 75 cops assigned for the security of Vice Pres. Duterte were relieved from their posts.
Amid the relief of many of her security detail, the Vice President assured the public that it will not affect her work. However, visibly, the interviews of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Rommel Marbil mentioning her did not sit well with the Vice President.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently released an “open letter” debunking the alleged “lies” spoken by PNP Chief Rommel Marbil. She denied that the PNP coordinated and requested the OVP regarding the relief of the 75 cops. According to the Vice President, no request happened and the PSPG only told the OVP that they will remove the security detail.
The Vice President also emphasized the role of the Vice Presidential Protection Division or the VPPD. According to her, they exist under the mandate of the NAPOLCOM so she and the succeeding vice presidents will have their own set of security.
“Kaya nga may VPPD para walang hablutan at hindi maabala ang trabaho ng lokal na pulis,” Duterte state din her open letter.
Furthermore, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also reacted to the claim of PNP chief Rommel Marbil that they don’t see any threat on the life of the Vice President. She stressed the malicious circulation of the video footage when she and her family was at the airport and about to live for a personal trip.
The OVP confirmed that Vice Pres. Duterte has recently left the country for a personal trip. However, the timing was unfortunate as it was during the onslaught of Typhoon Carina. Countless people reacted to the issue.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed in her open letter that some PNP authorities also came to the place where they are residing for “casing”. The authorities allegedly want to know where she specifically resides. According to her, if they were not stopped by the officials of the homeowners association, she does not know what may have happened next.
