Further Information About Chinese Coronavirus Patient in PH Released by DOH
DOH – The Department of Health revealed more details about the Chinese woman who tested positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Last Thursday, the Filipinos’ worries about the 2019 novel coronavirus intensified after one patient tested positive. The said disease is now rampant in China.
The 2019 novel coronavirus (nCoV) was first recorded in Wuhan City in China. It is suspected that this disease came from bat soup sold in the market in the city. The symptoms are similar to the signs shown by a person suffering from flu – with fever, cough, and experiences breathing difficulties.
Several countries got confirmed cases of nCoV even after the lock-down in Wuhan City. At least 160 people in China died from it and nearly 8,000 are infected.
The Philippines is one of the countries that recently got a confirmed case of coronavirus. The patient is a 38-year-old woman from Wuhan City, China.
Recently, the DOH revealed more details about the Chinese woman who tested positive for 2019 novel coronavirus. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the health department confirmed that the patient is confined in San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
Also, it was disclosed that the Chinese woman flew together with her partner from Hong Kong. They took a Cebu Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Cebu on January 21. From the province, they took a CebGo flight to Dumaguete.
Based on the report, after visiting Cebu and Dumaguete, the couple took a Philippine Airlines flight to Manila. She was suffering from mild cough when she got admitted.
Aside from the Chinese woman who tested positive for coronavirus, her partner and another foreigner are also admitted in San Lazaro Hospital. The DOH assured that the patients in the hospital knew well about it.
Also, the health department assured that San Lazaro Hospital is well-equipped and can handle it well. Currently, the tests of the laboratory done on the Chinese woman’s partner and another foreigner are still awaited.
