Man Receives P10,000 for Being Oldest to Get Circumcised

Man in Lapu-Lapu City Gets Cash Reward for Being Oldest to Get Circumcised

A man in Lapu-Lapu City went viral and garnered various reactions online for being the oldest to get circumcised.

Circumcision is a medical procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin, the tissue covering the head of the penis. This procedure is commonly performed on newborn boys, but it can also be done on older boys or men for various reasons, including religious, cultural, medical, or personal preferences.

Like any surgical procedure, circumcision carries risks, such as pain, bleeding, infection, and potential complications. Recovery times can vary, but it generally involves keeping the area clean, managing pain with medication if necessary, and avoiding activities that might irritate the area until it heals.

It can improve hygiene, reduce the risk of certain infections and diseases, and potential prevention of penile cancer.

Recently, Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan shared a Facebook post about a man who received P10,000 after getting circumcised. The post quickly circulated online and elicited comments from internet users.

The city government launched an “Operation Tuli” (circumcision drive). They offered a P10,000 reward to the oldest person who would get circumcised during the event.

The winner was a 26-year-old man named Alfredo Jr. from Barangay Basak. He not only got the procedure done but also walked away with the cash prize.

Making the program more special, Alfredo was assisted by Cheron Kisses Co, the current Binibining Lapu-Lapu 2023. The young Barangay Captain of Looc, Kap Jaic Tampus, also helped out. Dr. Ashley performed the operation.

Mayor Chan joked about Alfredo’s luck, saying he not only became a “real man” but also earned P10,000 in the process.
