Brazil First Lady had tested positive for COVID-19
BRAZIL FIRST LADY — Brazil President’s wife Michelle Bolsonaro had tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) according to the Brazilian government.
This, after her husband President Jair Bolsonaro had previously tested positive for coronavirus disease and spent his two weeks in quarantine with it.
Michelle, a 38-year-old Brazil’s first lady, was in “good health” according to the president’s office, adding that she would follow all established protocols in the country.

Meanwhile, President Bolsonaro had faced criticism for handling the COVID-19 pandemic as the country had surged to become the second-highest COVID-19 cases and fatalities in the world, after the United States.
Bolsonaro had fought to end the state and local stay-at-home measures in orderto contain the coronairus disease, arguing that the economic fallout might be worse than the COVID-19 itself.
Despite the numerous studies found that hydroxychloroquine – an antimalarial drug – had no benefit against coronavirus disease, he was instead pushing the said drug as a “treatment” and took it when he had COVID-19.
He again praised the medication on Thursday, yet he didn’t say if his wife took it, adding that he revealed he was feeling “poorly” again and he was taking antibiotics for his “undisclosed illness”.
