To become viral, a content creator ate a fish infested with tapeworms
NICHOLA KRATKA – An “extreme eater” known for consuming unusual foods, ate a fish infested with tapeworms to become viral.
Nichola, a 23-year-old from Los Angeles, California, is a content creator and self-proclaimed “extreme eater” with 6.1 million followers on TikTok. He often goes fishing and eats the seafood he catches, documenting his unconventional eating habits.
On September 20, 2023, he posted a video on his TikTok and Instagram accounts in which he consumed a bass he had caught. Upon cutting the fish, he discovered it was infested with tapeworms. Instead of discarding it, he chose to eat it raw, although he cooked other parts of the fish.
Nichola admitted that he intentionally did this in hopes of making his video go viral. He was aware of the possibility of getting sick due to the parasites in the fish. After eating the fish, he soon experienced stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and weakness. The severity of his symptoms prompted him to seek medical attention.
Once his condition improved, he posted a follow-up video on his TikTok account, confessing, “I’m an idiot. I’m not going to lie; this was totally my fault.” He shared his ordeal after consuming the tapeworm-infested fish and mentioned that the doctor suspected he had a tapeworm or some type of parasite in him.
Nichola emphasized that he had no regrets and would continue extreme eating as long as he was alive. He also mentioned that the doctor prescribed various deworming drugs because they couldn’t identify the exact type of worms he had consumed.
The doctor warned him that certain worms can cause seizures, muscle damage, and even enter the eyes or brain, leading to serious health issues. Despite his viral video achievement, Nichola faced criticism from netizens, with many suggesting he lacked common sense. Some advised him to consult another doctor because something seemed wrong with him.
